Blazeitdown

Blazeitdown aka Anj Shah was born in 1976 and raised in North London, England. He grew up listening to a mix of 80's pop, soul, reggae, and hip hop. In 1992 he started to listen to breakbeat hardcore and after buying a mixer and a set of turntables he started to teach himself to DJ out of his bedroom, building a huge record collection of breakbeat hardcore, jungle, and drum and bass.

In 1998, after buying a copy of Music for the playstation 1 he started to get in to music production, and in 2001, bought a PC and a copy of Reason and has never looked back.

​

In November 2010, after searching for a place to upload and share his dj mixes for friiends to download, he came across Soundcloud. After uploading a few mixes, he started to spend more and more time on the site, exploring tracks and listening to other people's work. This inspired him to delete the mixes and start work on beats. After uploading these tracks he started to get good feedback for his work and requests from rappers and singers to use his music. This motivated him to keep producing and striving to deliver a fresh sound in his work.

Blazeitdown takes his influences from many genres such as hip hop, reggae, jungle, drum and bass,  soul, funk, and jazz., and this reflects in his music. Each beat is different and adds another dimension to his work.

In April 2012 he set up a group on Facebook dedicated to showcasing new music. The group has attracted a huge following and provides another opportunity for artists to share their work and also the music they love to fans and friends alike.

Blazeitdown doesn't show any signs of slowing down with collaborations with artists in the pipeline along with continuing to remix tracks and upload fresh beats on a regular basis.
